Weekend in Park City

My parents came up for the weekend (it was their 40th anniversary - go Mom & Dad :)). Dillon (or "Hoot" as my Dad calls him - because of his big eyes) was excited to see them and we had a great time hanging out with them.

We rode the ski lift up the mountain with our "2 year" old for a scenic view. Don't worry both Joe and I had a death grip on him :). The lift was a little too slow for Dillon, but he was a good sport despite it being nap time.

After Dillon's nap we went to the Flying Ace Show at the Olympic Park and Dillon learned some sweet moves from the ariel ski jumpers. I'm sure by now anyone that would like to see the show has, but if you haven't I strongly recommend it. It was amazing and very, very cool to watch. Even Dillon and his Zwieback toast enjoyed it.

Mirror Lake - Uinta Mountains

We went to the Uinta Mountains, for the evening, this past weekend. It is so nice to have Joe back (not studying) and to be able to go do things as a family again. This is Dillon and I in front of Provo Falls.

Joe fished, but didn't catch anything (we think he is cursed now and that his good fishing days are over). He had a few close ones, but no luck :).

Dillon and I mostly walked around and had a fun time exploring. He was pretty into everything around him and we had to touch everything we went by (bark, water from a spring, leaves, flowers, you name it :)).

It was a beautiful place to be and we had fun 4-wheeling on the trials with Dillon's stroller. Dillon begs to differ that this trail is "wheelchair accessible" :).

Toooooele Visit

After we got back from Star Valley, Dillon and I went to Tooele to join Joe and visit Grandpa Art.

We stayed at Joe's sister Shannon's house. All of our stuff is stored in her basement and so we pulled out Dillon's wagon.

Dillon loved playing on Sage's sweet swing set.

Of course Dillon found something to climb under. This time it was Grandpa Art's camp trailer. Get him out of there!

Dillon loved sitting in Sage's high-chair. Currently we just have him sit in his bumbo chair to eat, but it looks like we will have get him the real-deal because he was all over it. Such a big boy!

Star Valley, WY Visit

A couple of days after we got back from California, my Mom, Dillon and I went to Star Valley to see family and friends.

I helped put a shower together for my friend Shalee. She is having a baby girl in October, Yeah!

Kelsie (along with her Mom) was in charge of the food and I was in charge of the decorating and games (I so had the easy part). We had a great time and of course Shalee was the cutest pregnant girl ever.

We went to visit my grandparents and this is a shot of Dillon with my Grandma Venna. She had a hard time keeping a hold of this bearcat of mine, but she wanted to hold him.

The picture is one of my Dad when he was little, notice any similarities between the two? Dillon is so a mini Jimmy D.

Solvang & Santa Barbara, California

We're in Europe again! - Just kidding we're just in Solvang, CA. Monica watched Dillon for us and so Joe and I had the day for ourselves. Solvang is one of the coolest towns on the Central Coast. It is very uncommericalized and all of the buildings look like they should be in Europe.

There was a bakery on nearly every corner in Solvang and Joe and I more than took advantage of them.

After Solvang, Joe and I went to Santa Barbara. We went to the mission, pier, and drove down State Street.

The next day we went to the Hearst Castle and toured through the amazing residence. We marvelled at all of the European antiques and furnishings . We wondered if it were to be built today if the owner would be able to acquire half of its rare possessions.

California Here We Come!

After the "Kennington Family Fun Fest" (as Joe likes to call it) Dillon and I headed to California to stay with my sister Monica and her family. We partied it up with Monica and her kids all week while Joe studied and Aaron worked :). After taking the Bar exam Joe joined us for the weekend.
Monica and Aaron only live about a 1/2 hour from the coast and so we got in some good beach time. Dillon had a great time. He loves the sand and loved to dig his fingers in it.

For some reason my flip-flops were extra cool at the beach and Dillon liked to chase me in them.

Dillon had to find his Dad if he wanted to go near the water. It was much too cold for me!
